Open Singles & Ladies Only League Rules

1. League Format

  • Duration: 20 Weeks.
  • Format: Singles only (no teams).
  • Handicap: 90% of a 220 average.
  • Weekly Play: 3 games per session during regular league play.
  • Pairings: You will be paired with a random player each week.
  • Scoring (4 Points Possible):
    • 1 Point for each individual game win.
    • 1 Point for the higher overall series.

2. Payout Structure

  • Guaranteed Payout: All league participants will receive a payout.
  • Distribution: Prize money is distributed based on final standings after the 20-week season concludes.
  • The Finals: The Top 8 finishers will advance to a Stepladder Format tournament.

3. Entry Fees & Collection

  • Weekly Prize Fund: $5.00 due each week ($100 total over 20 weeks).
  • The Mid-Season Collection: On Week 10, a payment of $20.00 will be collected to cover the final 4 weeks of the season.
  • Commitment Policy: Full payment for the season is mandatory upon entry. Bowlers may only withdraw if they are no longer participating in the main Laughlin league.

4. Scoring & Absence Policy

  • Tracking: Weekly scores and standings will be posted to the Dead Pins digital board.
  • Ties: In the event of a tie, points for that game or series are split.
  • Absent Bowlers (Standard): To win a point against an absent bowler, you must bowl within 10 pins of your average (e.g., a 190 average must bowl 180 or higher). If you fail to hit the target, the absent bowler receives the point.
  • Absent Bowlers (Finals): During the last 2 days of the league, bowling against an absent bowler results in an automatic win regardless of score.
  • Pre-Bowling: Make-up games are permitted with prior approval. Please notify the administrator in advance if you will be absent.

5. The Finals: Stepladder Format (Top 8)

The championship will be contested over two days:

Day 1

  • Match 1: Seed #8 vs. Seed #7
  • Match 2: Winner vs. Seed #6
  • Match 3: Winner vs. Seed #5

Day 2 (Final Day of League)

  • Match 4: Winner of Day 1 vs. Seed #4
  • Match 5: Winner vs. Seed #3
  • Match 6: Winner vs. Seed #2
  • Championship Match: Winner of Match 6 vs. Seed #1
  • Tie-Breaker: In the event of a tie in the final match, a sudden-death strike roll-off will take place on a separate lane.
